Separation of young persons in police stations and in courts

Section 6 of the Juvenile Offenders Ordinance (Cap 226) provides that no child or young person shall associate with an adult (not being a relative) who is charged with any offfence other than an offence with which the juvenile is charged. This applies to a juvenile whilst being detained in a police station, being conveyed to or from any criminal court, or waiting before or after attending any criminal court.

Furthermore, a female juvenile, whilst detained, being conveyed or waiting, shall be under the care of a female.
